What you should know about Mount Maunganui Intermediate
Curriculum, organisation and behaviour management is more responsive to meet student needs and students receive greater access to learning, sporting and cultural opportunities. With a supportive Board of Trustees, a dedicated staff and an incredibly supportive school community we are continuing our journey as we strive for excellence in the education of emerging adolescents. As a staff we are committed to building upon our strengths, developing our skills, and deliberate acts of teaching to maximise student achievement ensuring curriculum delivery of the highest quality. As a Board we have continued extensive property work to refurbish amenities and our classrooms into twenty first century learning spaces and in 2016, ten new classrooms were built.

Should the team make it through to nationals, they will compete in November. Mt Maunganui Intermediate enters a team or teams of 4 to compete in the Regional BOP inter school Championship in August. Team members are expected to commit to the complete process including at minimum one practice per week behind and prior school.
Parents may uplift their own children after notifying the class Teacher who will report to the Office Manager. We have high expectations for our students and their behavior, and as the students move from primary to intermediate the expectations increase accordingly. At Mt Maunganui Intermediate we specialism in the care and education of international students. Hasty in Term 1 students are invited to trial for Year 7 and 8, girls and boys, basketball teams.
Mt Maunganui Intermediate has potent relationships with both Mt Maunganui College and Mt Maunganui Primary School who also donate places for international students. Dance and Drama at Mt Maunganui Intermediate is designed for our students to experience clever processes, learning how to communicate with others, explore various performance skills and having laughter while learning fresh moves!. Mount Maunganui Intermediate students are given the opportunity to participate and excel in a wide range of sports and cultural activities. Premature in Term 1 students are invited to attend a skills' session and then trial for Year 7 and 8 netball teams.
Teams are made up of 3 4 classes and compete in a range of activities throughout the year to earn points for their house. The team is coached by Ms Morresey, who also brings in specialist coaches to support the girls in their game. If a class is off site, the teacher s would need to be informed to stay safe office staff. Teachers continue with their class until person in charge dismisses everyone.
Players are expected to commit to two practices a week at school, in Term 2 and Term 3, at a time agreed with their coach. In a school of this size, the principal and staff know their students and target their teaching accordingly.
