Waterline Magazine , now in its fourteenth year, is the Bay's only specialist boating, fishing and watersports mag, and doubles as the much treasured news magazine of the region's boating and fishing clubs. Today Sun Media is thriving, based in a beautiful historic building located at 1 The Strand, Tauranga.
Andrew Campbell has extensive daily print and radio news journalism experience, having worked for The Dominion Post, Radio New Zealand, Sydney's 2GB radio and in the Bay for more than 20 years. Letitia Atkinson has worked in the media industry since she was 15 years old. She focuses on writing for SunLive, SunLive Eastern Bay and SunLive Thames Coromandel, covering the emergency services police, fire, ambulance as well as court, health and entertainment. Zoe Hunter joined SunLive in September 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Media Arts. Assistant editor of The Weekend Sun, Zoe happily retells the community's stories in The Weekend Sun and assists with writing editorials for the company's wonderful advertisers.
Luke Balvert is the sports nut of the SunMedia team, joining the newsroom in December 2012 after completing a National Diploma in Journalism from Aoraki Polytechnic and Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Communication Studies from the University of Otago. He focuses on writing for SunLive, writing the sporting content along with general reporting including council, politics and emergency services. He has a love for all things sport, particularly rugby, and this year won runner up Junior Sports Reporter at the community newspaper awards. Before this she was Katikati Advertiser's chief reporter for two years and started in Whangarei, spending two years as a newbie journo at the Whangarei Report.
In 2007 David was awarded a National Diploma in Journalism from the Waikato Institute of Technology and prior to that a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Waikato in 2005. Due to his surname being Tauranga', David has also considered running for mayor solely for the opportunity to use the campaign slogan Tauranga for Tauranga . Hunter Wells is another migrant Jaffa' His career has gone the full 360 degrees first job was buying a lunchtime pie for the Chief reporter in a Dunedin newspaper office. Hunter promises to keep the secret of Utopian Tauranga safe from the rest of Auckland.
