The overall objective of the Pathway to Podium programme is to establish a partnership between National Sport Organisations NSO's and Regional Talent Hubs that provides athlete development support to emerging athletes in the pre High Performance environment. The objective of the Regional Talent Hubs is to assist NSO's with delivery of regionally based generic athlete and coach support. The Pathway to Podium programme is designed primarily to provide a regionally based high quality support and education programme for nationally NSO identified pre carded athletes 1 3 year time frame in the following sports . It is envisaged that athletes will be in engaged in the programme for 2 years, occasionally 3 in extenuating circumstances, for example long term injury before hopefully moving through to working with High Performance Sport NZ carded programme. Entry into the programme takes place in April each year and is expressly through your National Sporting Organisation Performance Directors and then endorsed by Sport NZ. The following is an outline of our understanding of the high level requirements of the Bay of Plenty Talent Development Hub . A national network of Regional Talent Hubs will be established based on RST boundaries.
Thus the key driver of the hubs is to better prepare athletes for transition into High Performance sport. PCA will offer a unique professional development opportunity for the selected coaches. Development opportunities may be offered across a range of areas including . PCA gives you the opportunity to identify and develop key performance coaches in your sport think carefully about which coaches you endorse. Improve quality of performance coaches working with talented pre elite year old athletes primarily within Sport NZ Community and HPSNZ High Performance targeted sports.
Limited expertise and leadership in NSO RSO RST network regarding best coaching and coach development practice in the performance area. Regionally based programme to support development of performance coaching six regions being Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago. Programme Delivery To be led by a Regional Programme Leader RPL with support from a Sport NZ Programme Manager. Entry into the programme takes place in March each year and is expressly through your National Sporting Organisation Coaching Directors and then endorsed by Sport NZ. All applications must include a cover letter, current curriculum vitae and a completed Sport Bay of Plenty application form. Sport Bay of Plenty is seeking an exceptional Central Bay of Plenty GO4it Coordinator to deliver fundamental movement skill sessions in primary schools. The position is approximately 25 hours per week within the hours of 9am and 3pm. Reporting to the Sport Manager, they will be responsible for leading and managing the Community Sport Team and supporting sport in the Bay of Plenty through improving the capability of sporting organisations in particular clubs. Exceptional facilitation and communication skills are required and the ability to build effective working relationships and partnerships with sporting organisations, council, schools and the wider community.
