We recognise it is often the small things that make a funeral or memorial service special the selection of flowers and music, for example and we are here to provide valuable advice and assistance to make it relevant and unique to your loved one. Mike has a diverse work background, which has contributed to his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Many have been on the receiving end of his empathetic manner important in his role of ministering and serving grieving families. Mike is a funeral celebrant, with the ability to officiate at all manner of services with due respect to all cultures and beliefs. In his role as a Funeral Director, Mike is often asked to bless a home and its treasured possessions including Pounamu Greenstone pendants.
Mike is married to Dorothy and they have two daughters Erana, who is a member of the NZ Police force in Hamilton and Taina who works as an integral member of the Legacy team. Mike is a serving member of the Tauranga Rotary Club, and an appointed Justice of the Peace for New Zealand. Kiri works in conjunction with the Directors and the Operations Manager to ensure the efficient running of all the day to day tasks and management required for the company. Prior to joining Legacy she worked for ACC, in office management roles, and was a financial planner.
She is married to Sean and has two school aged children Madison, and Taimana. Kiri feels privileged to assist families 'behind the scenes' and enjoys working with the team at Legacy and with their external suppliers. An accomplished public speaker, Don is happy to assist families through his skill as a funeral celebrant especially smaller private services. He, and wife Debbie, formerly owned and operated Tauranga’s Bell Lodge Motel and Backpackers, before moving on to the world of real estate.
Don, Debbie, and their four children, moved to Tauranga in 1993 after selling their sheep and beef farm. Annie was so keen to become a funeral director, she even moved to Australia with her husband and their three children in tow to gain work experience. Annie has a strong sense of community, and the community she loves is Tauranga based. It’s little wonder then, that Annie and family returned to Tauranga where Annie has been welcomed into the Legacy family.
She says there is nothing more rewarding than helping others in their hour of need. Ancient societies, alternative history, physics and astronomy are subjects that captivate him. He admits to spending a sizable amount of money on camera lenses apparently you can never have enough. He also enjoys his job and feels privileged to have the responsibility of looking after families’ loved ones during what are often extremely difficult times. In addition to providing embalming services she is also in charge of running Legacy’s crematorium.
In addition to her embalming qualification, Taina has a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Hawaii at Hilo
