Currently the Managing Director of Geotechnics, I have been involved in engineering materials testing since 1975. I am currently the Regional Manager for Geotechnics Ltd Auckland Testing Division and a Project Director.
Currently I am the National Manager for Sales and Calibration, where I am responsible for the running and development of this key area of the business. Currently, I am the Regional Manager South, for Geotechnics, where I am responsible for offices in Tauranga, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. My skills and experience have been developed through site investigations, instrumentation and field testing. With over 10 years experience, I have worked at Geotechnics in the capacity of Project Manager, and more recently, in my current role as Project Director.
This is a crucial leadership role, where I am responsible for Health Safety, ensuring client satisfaction through recognising their needs and drivers, managing project risk, nurturing the growth of the Project Manager and ensuring project delivery with maximum profitability. Currently I am the Team Leader of the Land Development team at Geotechnics, where I am responsible for project managing the Auckland Land Development jobs, creating tenders and quotes, liaising with clients, overseeing staff and ensuring the quality of the projects we deliver. As the Instrumentation Manager for Geotechnics Auckland, I am responsible for the operations of a team of technicians installing and monitoring geotechnical and structural instrumentation for projects in the Auckland city and surrounding regions. Currently, I am the Soils Laboratory Manager for Geotechnics in Auckland, where I am responsible for direct supervision of senior and junior technicians, to ensure client and management objectives are reached.
As Operations Manager, I organise the Pavements Testing team for geotechnical and rehabilitation investigations, as well as construction compliance testing. Through my varied background in hospitality and promotion, I developed transferable skills, with my key strengths being organisation and communication. My current position involves field testing and project coordination in the Christchurch office. I've worked in all four corners of New Zealand, met a lot of cool people and am constantly learning new things in a challenging environment.
I work in the Environmental Civil Hire and Sales team at Christchurch Geotechnics. I joined Geotechnics in March 2015, to support the growing Hire Sales division in the South Island. Within this role, my responsibilities include calibration, testing and client relationship building. Over the intervening years I’ve developed a high level of understanding and knowledge in areas of materials testing, geotechnical instrumentation and project management.
My civil engineering experience and skills have been developed over many years through site investigations, environmental, instrumentation, laboratory and field testing. Currently I am the Manager for Geotechnics Tauranga, overseeing field and laboratory operations. I am responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality results and maintain strong relationships with our customers.
